Asynchronous Byzantine Fault Tolerance (ABFT)

Asynchronous Byzantine Fault Tolerance (ABFT) is the ability of a consensus mechanism that allows only honest nodes to agree on the timing and order of transactions, even when several malicious nodes attempt to halt the consensus. ABFT addresses the problem of a specific time limit in Byzantine Fault Tolerance.

In ABFT, there are no such issues of timing and inconsistencies, as it enables honest nodes to function even if a large number of malicious nodes are halting the process. There is no immediate need for honest nodes to reach a consensus, as ABFT ensures that the nodes will eventually agree on the timing and order of transactions.
